Overview

We are excited to announce 12 training CWP posts in West London Trust across Hammersmith and Fulham, Hounslow and Ealing Community CAMHS and Mental Health Support Teams. The purpose of the role is to provide early intervention by way of Guided Self Help (GSH) for children and young people experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties, especially those who would not normally meet the threshold or engage with CAMHS.

Alongside working towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Child and Young Person\'s Psychological Wellbeing Practice at Kings College London (KCL), you will work in clinic under the supervision of a CWP Supervisor and there will be close links with the specialist Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) CAMHS teams as well as working within community settings and within schools.

The training programme is part of the Children and Young Persons Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP-IAPT). The aim of the programme is to provide evidence-based treatments that are brief, low in intensity for mild to moderate emotional and behavioural difficulties in children and young people.

Role and Responsibilities

This is a training role within the Children and Young People\'s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holder will work within a CYP mental health service delivering, under supervision, high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based interventions and guided self-help for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. These interventions will be delivered in both 1:1 and group settings. Furthermore, you will be expected to work closely with other community organisations.

The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value driven service.

The post holder will attend all university based taught and Onsite Protected Learning Time required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.
