Job Title: HGV Technician / Truck & Trailer Technician
Location: Leyland, PR26 7QS
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: £18 - £22 per hour (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced HGV Technician to join our professional and fast-paced workshop in Leyland. This role is ideal for a skilled Truck & Trailer Technician who is confident working independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs, trucks, and trailers
* Diagnose faults using modern diagnostic equipment
* Conduct safety inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT
* Complete all job cards, service sheets, and compliance documentation accurately
* Ensure all work is carried out in line with health & safety and DVSA standards
* Attend breakdowns where required (if applicable)
Requirements:
* Fully qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
* Proven experience working on trucks and trailers
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
* Good understanding of DVSA regulations and compliance
* Ability to work both independently and within a team
* Full UK driving licence (HGV licence desirable but not essential)
Desirable Skills:
* IRTEC accreditation
* Experience with a range of manufacturers (DAF, Volvo, Scania, etc)
* Welding or fabrication skills
* Tachograph and electrical system knowledge
