Job Description
Role Purpose: You own the operation, maintenance, and execution of Williams F1 Team’s full-motion Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator for all non-F1 activity, including Driver Academy, Testing of Previous Cars (TPC), Heritage, and Commercial programmes.
About the Role:
The DIL simulator sits at the heart of Williams’ non-F1 programme, from Driver Academy sessions to Heritage experiences and Commercial activities. You'll ensure every session is executed seamlessly, to the highest standards of reliability, technical excellence, and professionalism.
Working closely with drivers, engineers, and commercial stakeholders, you'll plan and deliver simulator sessions end to end, configuring vehicle and track models, setting up hardware and software, and actively leading sessions on the day. You'll also own the maintenance of the facility, running a proactive schedule to keep downtime to an absolute minimum, and managing the simulator calendar to balance competing demands.
This is a role where technical precision and people skills matter in equal measure. The customers and use cases are diverse, and the standard expected is consistently high.
About You:
You're comfortable working with a wide range of people, from drivers and engineers to commercial partners, and you bring a calm, professional energy to whatever the day throws at you. You're proactive by nature, you don't wait for things to go wrong before acting, and you're the kind of person who takes ownership without needing to be asked.
You're experienced in a simulator environment with a background in high-performance or motorsport environments and a genuine curiosity for how complex systems work. You take pride in running things well, not just getting sessions done, but making sure every detail is right, every time.
Most importantly, you care. About the quality of your work, the experience of the people in the simulator, and the reputation of the facility you're responsible for.
Skills and experience:
* Experience operating simulation, real-time control, or complex technical facilities
* Practical mechanical and electrical skills, including basic repairs and troubleshooting
* Familiarity with motion platforms and simulation software, rFpro, Beckhoff TwinCAT, or similar is a bonus
* Strong data acquisition and telemetry knowledge
* Methodical approach to session planning, configuration, and data management
* High standards of documentation across maintenance, system configs, and technical issues
* Solution-focused, proactive about resolving problems and knowing when to ask for help
* Strong communicator, comfortable with drivers, engineers, and commercial stakeholders alike
