Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer – 45 hours per week, Monday-Thursday – Newport – £49,962 P/A + benefits.
2 shift rotating pattern: Week 1 – Mon to Wed, 6am-6pm; Thursday 5:30am-2:30pm. Week 2 – Mon to Wed, 6pm-6am; Thursday 1:30pm-10:30pm.

We now have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Newport!
Mission
Your main responsibilities will be to ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault finding and equipment maintenance. You will work on various types of equipment, including complex hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic control systems.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure continuous production.
* Fault find, diagnose, and resolve breakdowns with a safe and structured approach.
* Plan and carry out routine maintenance activities and inspections.
* Communicate effectively with operatives and Team Leaders from both maintenance and production.
* Ensure work adheres to environmental, health and safety requirements and regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills
* Apprentice-trained Engineer to NVQ level 3 in Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information and recommendations.
* Understanding of 3 phase motors and variable speed drives.
* Experience in electrical fault finding, defect rectification, and routine maintenance activities.
* Excellent communication skills with operatives and Team Leaders from maintenance and production.
* Good understanding of current environmental, health and safety issues and regulatory requirements.
Desirable / Extra points
* 17th or 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations preferred; training available if required.
* PLC fault-finding skills; knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC is desirable.
* Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
