SEN Teaching Assistant – Year 5

We’re looking for a caring and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 5 at a welcoming primary school in Wembley. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone who enjoys helping children build confidence and make real progress in the classroom.
You’ll be supporting pupils who are currently working at lower levels, including children with Autism (ASD). The school is looking for someone calm, patient, and encouraging, someone who can build trust and help pupils feel comfortable, focused, and ready to learn.
What the role looks like
* Supporting Year 5 pupils in the classroom, both in small groups and one-to-one
* Helping children with ASD and additional learning needs access lessons
* Breaking down learning into manageable steps so pupils can keep up with the class
* Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support individual learning plans
We’re looking for someone who
* Has previous experience working with children in KS2
* Has experience supporting pupils with ASD
* Is patient, positive, and confident supporting children with additional needs
* Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
* Can help create a calm and supportive learning environment
