Educational Psychologist

Pay rate: £626 per day
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Educational Psychologist (EP) to work within the Educational Psychology Service, part of the Early Help Integrated Locality Team in London. The role involves supporting the Local Authority (LA) in meeting responsibilities for pupils with special educational needs. You will provide direct support to schools and early years settings and collaborate with other agencies to promote positive outcomes for children, young people, and families. This includes delivering statutory and traded services, assessments, and reports within set timescales to ensure comprehensive consideration of each child's needs.
Ideal candidate will be:
* Holding a professional qualification in Educational Psychology at Masters Level or in the final year of a doctorate in Educational Psychology.
* Registered with the Health & Care Professions Council.
* Possessing a good Honors degree in psychology or equivalent, recognized by the British Psychological Society.
* Having additional qualifications relevant to the work of an EP.
In this role, you will:
* Conduct high-quality assessments for children and young people experiencing learning barriers related to cognition, communication, physical, sensory, medical, or behavioral challenges.
* Provide a high standard of educational psychology services, including contributions to statutory assessments and reviews of pupils with Statements of Special Educational Need and Education Health Care Plans.
* Lead joint problem-solving and team meetings involving parents, carers, teachers, and other professionals.
* Participate in and promote the processes of the Locality Teams, such as Early Help Record and Plan, Lead Professional, and Team Around the Child & Family.
* Work systemically with schools to identify and reduce barriers to successful learning.
* Represent the EPS and Locality Team in meetings, panels, and case conferences as needed.
* Develop and deliver training for schools, LA staff, other professionals, and parents/carers.
* Plan and implement interventions and undertake research to improve services for children and young people.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the Service.
* Maintain professional registration and participate actively in HR processes like appraisal and performance reviews.
