Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and highly organized School Nurse to join our Health and Wellbeing Centre (HAWC) team. This is a key role focused on providing exceptional medical care and support to pupils, and, where appropriate, staff and visitors. The HAWC is open 24/7 during term-time and is fully supported by our school doctors.
The Role
Reporting to the Health and Wellbeing Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day medical care of pupils and for ensuring the efficient operation of the HAWC. This role offers many opportunities to contribute to and improve the services provided, while maintaining the highest professional standards. You will also be expected to build a strong rapport with pupils, staff, and parents by having a welcoming and friendly demeanour.
Your Key Responsibilities Include
* Medical Care and Treatment: Providing emergency and in-patient care for pupils, as well as emergency care for anyone working at or visiting the school. This includes performing entry examinations for new pupils and assisting in the promotion of health education.
* Liaison and Communication: Working with the School Doctor and other medical professionals to ensure the continuity of care. You will also communicate with relevant parties, such as a pupil’s parents, Housemaster, and Matron, to keep them informed of any specific situations.
* Administration and Documentation: Dispensing medicines according to current protocols, maintaining accurate and confidential medical records, and administering vaccines for the School’s Immunization Programme.
* Operational Support: Supporting the Lead Nurse in the smooth running of daily GP clinics, carrying out routine checks of stock, and attending relevant professional training courses.
About You
We are looking for a qualified nurse with excellent communication and organizational skills. You should be empathetic, calm under pressure, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

* RSCN (Registered Sick Children's Nurse) Qualified.

* Calm, patient, and a confident decision-maker.
* Flexible and adaptable to working hours.
Desirable Skills
* Experience in paediatrics, accident and emergency, or primary care.
* IT literate or a willingness to learn.
* A conscientious and dedicated approach.
* A commitment to the pastoral values of the school and to promoting an inclusive culture.
What We Offer
* Start Date: ASAP.
* Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, during term-time only.
* Salary: £25,053.71 (gross) per annum. FTE (Full-Time Equivalent) salary is £38,233.00 per annum.
