About The Role Opportunity to join an ‘Outstanding’ all-through academy specialising in mathematics and citizenship. At Ark Secondary, we are currently seeking three Learning Support Assistant positions (referred to as an LSA), who will all provide specific and direct support to children with Special Educational needs or a Disability (SEND), ensuring that these children make good progress in all academic areas across all subjects. The position will be with KS3 subjects. Line Managed by the SENCo and working alongside class teachers, Pastoral staff and external professionals to provide in-class support and small-group interventions. These roles require a flexible approach, good organisational and administrative skills. A calm and patient manner are essential, as is a nurturing approach. A good understanding of the academy’s teaching and learning and behaviour policies are desirable, and specific training will be provided to support you in the role. The ability to liaise with all staff and the parents of the children you will support is essential and will all form part of your role.
