* Assisting the team with quantity surveying duties and gaining knowledge, skills, and experience in the house building market, progressing to managing a small site from inception to completion.

MAIN DUTIES
* Carrying out site measures in liaison with the Surveyor.
* Carrying out drawing take-offs and producing labour-only rates in liaison with the Surveyor, including maintaining databases and distributing information.
* Checking SMAS database in liaison with the Surveyor.
* Updating SWMP Carriers Matrix, including license numbers and expiry dates, and issuing to site as necessary in liaison with the Surveyor.
* Assisting the Surveyor in pricing non-standard client extras, updating the Cost of Sales in the Viability Manager, and producing H&S packs for Housing Association plots.
* Assisting in producing information for the Code for Sustainable Homes.
* Assisting in producing the Group Rebate Form.
* Assisting the Surveyor/Construction Director in updating build completion dates in Eque2 as necessary.
* Paying designated invoices and applications in line with authorization levels and procedures.
* Site booking administration, including liaising with the Site Surveyor and Payroll, checking rates, and recording bookings.
* Paying utility bills, liaising with sales and utility companies to ensure readings are correct.
* Making material enquiries and assisting with procurement and reporting as necessary.
* Producing and updating a Sub-contract/Material Supplier database.
Essential Skills / Attributes
* Must hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
* Educated to A level standard or equivalent.
* Keen interest in Surveying.
* Good negotiating skills and excellent time management.
* Computer literate.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Willingness to learn.
Additional Skills / Attributes
* Awareness of construction methods, standards, forms of measurement, and Health & Safety requirements.
* Studying for or achieved a construction-related qualification with a Quantity Surveying bias.
* Knowledge of contract law related to construction issues.
* Knowledge of construction techniques and materials.
* Understanding of Health & Safety issues.
* Proficiency with valuation systems.
