Role Overview
Teaching Personnel is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our growing team in Poole. This rewarding role involves supporting children with a range of special educational needs across primary settings. You’ll work closely with class teachers and SENDCos to deliver tailored support to individuals and small groups, ensuring every child can access the curriculum and thrive in the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs (including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays).
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to plan and implement personalised learning strategies.
* Promote an inclusive, positive, and supportive learning environment.
* Assist in monitoring and recording pupils’ progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents where appropriate.
* Use a range of communication tools and sensory strategies to engage and motivate pupils.
* Help manage challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner, following school policies and behaviour plans.

Qualifications & Skills
* Must be a UK resident with the right to work in the UK.
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN (either in a school, care, or personal setting) is highly desirable.
* Understanding of key SEN conditions such as ASD, ADHD, and speech & language needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with children.
* A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or similar) is beneficial but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
