We are seeking an inspirational Lead Teacher of Business Studies and Economics, to deliver excellent teaching across the 11-20 age group.
We seek a successful candidate who will:

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES AS LEAD TEACHER OF BUSINESS STUDIES AND ECONOMICS
1. Leadership and Management
* Provide strategic leadership for Business Studies and Economics across KS5.
* Line manage and support department staff through performance reviews, professional development, and effective delegation.
* Set high expectations and promote a culture of continuous improvement and academic excellence.
* Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning through lesson observations, work scrutiny, and data analysis.
2. Curriculum Development
* Design, implement, and review a coherent and engaging curriculum that meets national standards and caters to a diverse range of learners.
* Lead on curriculum mapping, assessment frameworks, and schemes of work for Business and Economics.
* Integrate enterprise and financial literacy education, where appropriate, to enhance real-world relevance.
3. Teaching and Learning
* Deliver outstanding lessons in Business and/or Economics, modelling excellent practice for other staff, including teaching throughout the range of the curriculum including Edexcel GCSE Business Studies and AQA A Level Business Studies.
* Promote effective teaching strategies and innovative use of technology in the classroom.
* Ensure effective intervention strategies are in place to support student progress.
4. Student Outcomes
* Set ambitious targets for student achievement and progress, particularly in public examinations.
* Use data to track and monitor student performance, identifying gaps and leading strategies for improvement.
* Foster high levels of student engagement and interest in the subjects.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
* Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external partners including examination boards and industry professionals.
* Contribute to open evenings, careers events, and other whole-school initiatives.
6. Professional Development
* Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and facilitating CPD sessions.
* Keep abreast of national developments in Business and Economics education and share relevant insights with the team.
General
1. To attend weekly staff meetings at times organised by the SLT.
2. To share in the rota of break, lunchtime and evening supervision duties, as applicable.
3. To share in the covering for colleagues on short-term absence.
4. To contribute to the provision of extra-curricular activities, including the annual school 'Hikes' and, if needed, participation in a camp, during the summer term.
5. To contribute to the marketing of the school through attending periodic school open days.
6. To undertake any other reasonable requests of the Headteacher.
7. To role model and support the school's Behavioural Charter principles of honesty, integrity, humility, courage and respect.
