Section Engineer Contract A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross, Cornwall Outside IR35 Our Client has a requirement for a Section Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis on the A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross Project in Cornwall. Role Purpose of the Section Engineer: To support the delivery of landscaping, land hand-back, and finishing works on the final dualling section of the A30 between Chiverton Cross and Carland Cross. The Section Engineer will be responsible for planning, programming, setting out, and overseeing works in accordance with project design, safety, and quality standards. Section Engineer Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate landscaping and land hand-back activities Prepare material take-offs and schedules Write and review RAMS for construction tasks Liaise with site teams regarding plant, labour, and material requirements Carry out setting out using GPS, EDM, and Total Station equipment Maintain detailed daily site diaries Complete quality check sheets in line with ITPs Conduct and support safety and workplace inspections Raise and manage permits as required Perform CAT & Genny surveys before excavation Attend and contribute to site meetings Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, the client, and the general public Carry out site surveys and produce sketches of construction work or sequences Section Engineer Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications: CSCS card (relevant to engineering role) SSSTS or SMSTS certification Minimum 5 years’ civil engineering experience CAT & Genny training (desirable) First Aid certification (desirable) Safety Critical Medical (desirable) Competent in the use of AutoCAD (desirable) Computer literate – able to work independently and within a team Flexibility to work occasional weekends when required (advance notice will be given) Company Information: At First Recruitment Group we understand just how important it is to secure the right people.
