Job Description: Assistant Project Manager Position: Assistant Project Manager Responsible to: Project Manager Job Type: Full-time Location: Home-based with travel to nationwide sites (Midlands preferred, but not essential) Primary Responsibilities The Assistant Project Manager will support the Project Managers across all Leisure Energy site- and office-based activities, ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and subcontractors. Key responsibilities include: Assisting Project Managers with all project-related tasks. Ensuring all health and safety documentation is compliant and available for every project. Promoting and supporting an exemplary Health & Safety culture, working closely with Site Managers. Ensuring compliance with the companys Quality Management System and updating processes in line with current legislation. Maintaining strong professional relationships with clients and subcontractors. Duties 1. General Duties Contribute to the development and implementation of company policies and procedures. Build and sustain positive working relationships with subcontractors. Work with the Project Management team to develop a comprehensive Quality Management System covering all areas of service delivery. Act as a central point of contact between the Energy, Design, and Project Management teams. 2. Project Work Support Project Managers by preparing all required health and safety information and site equipment, including compiling H&S folders and sourcing materials. Attend site on a weekly basis to obtain the current project status and report back to the Project Manager, including attending client meetings as required. Support the financial management of projects by helping to track expenditure, manage budgets, and ensure cost efficiency. Assist in ensuring full compliance with the appropriate contract conditions, most commonly JCT / NEC4 contracts. Demonstrate ability to review and understand schematics and M&E drawings to assist in project delivery and coordination, with support from the design team. Request site-specific Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for all works. Competently review and comment on Sub-contractor and supplier RAMS. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure they are appropriately trained and qualified; maintain the approved contractors list. Maintain regular communication with the Design and Technical Teams to ensure project progress. Support the recruitment and coordination of Site Managers, including agency staff. Assist with site setup activities. Collaborate with the Energy, Design, and Project teams to build and update project programmes using Microsoft Project (training can be provided). Assist in preparing documentation for bid submissions, including securing budget costs and quotations to support feasibility studies. Take and distribute meeting minutes when required. Work with project teams and subcontractors to compile Operations & Maintenance files for completed works. 3. Progression & Development Applicants must be willing to learn and keen to progress; full training will be provided. Work closely with experienced Project Managers to support skill development. Attend construction workshops for knowledge sharing, training, problem-solving, and wider business development. 4. Person Requirements Experience or interest in energy-saving technologies and site works (CDM). Experience or interest in Health & Safety and relevant legislation. Strong time management capabilities, including effective planning and independent diary management. Strong numeracy skills. Competent with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, MS Project). Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel. Methodical, well-organised, and self-motivated. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working remotely. Preferred qualifications: CSCS, Passport to Safety (CCNSG), SMSTS.
