Offer description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced emergency planner to join the small, specialised EPRR team. The successful candidate will report to the Strategic Head of EPRR & Counter Terrorism within the Chief Operating Officer's corporate team. The team is responsible for providing professional advice, guidance, and building resilience through planning, training, exercising, and responding to incidents and emergencies affecting health or disrupting patient care.

While the post holder will work across all areas of the Emergency Management Framework, this role will mainly focus on Business Continuity and Exercise delivery for the Trust. Business Continuity plans are reviewed annually, and exercises are conducted at least every 3 years for each care group, with tabletop exercises annually and communications exercises every 3 months.

We seek a passionate, experienced resilience professional with a can-do attitude and a flexible approach to adapt to evolving situations. The primary base will be Duncan Macmillan House, Nottingham, with travel to other Trust locations and flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading EPRR projects, including hazard identification, risk assessment, emergency planning, training delivery, and exercise facilitation.
2. Designing and delivering comprehensive EPRR, business continuity, and recovery training via various methods such as face-to-face sessions, e-learning, podcasts, and workshops.
3. Leading the delivery of EPRR training and exercises, overseeing the full exercise cycle.
4. Coordinating and reporting exercise and training outcomes for review.
5. Developing and monitoring performance indicators to assess and improve EPRR, with regular reporting.
6. Supporting administration during major incidents and providing specialist tactical advice/support as needed.
7. Supporting debriefing sessions, writing reports, and implementing lessons learned.
8. Reviewing responses to EPRR incidents, assessing plan adequacy, and recommending improvements.

Join #TeamNottsHC, serving over 11,000 colleagues across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, and South Yorkshire, delivering a wide range of healthcare services from over 200 sites, including community, acute, and secure environments.
