This is not a quiet hotel job. This is one of the busiest, most demanding F&B operations on the Isle of Skye, and we are looking for a serious operator to take control. At Sligachan Hotel & Seumas’ Bar, we need an Operations Manager who thrives under pressure, leads from the front, and knows how to run high-volume service properly. The Role You will work directly with the Managing Director, taking ownership of Food & Beverage and Housekeeping operations. This is a hands-on, floor-based role, especially in Seumas’ Bar, where volume, pace, and standards are relentless. If you prefer being in the office, this role is not for you. What You’ll Be Doing Running high-volume F&B service, hands-on, every day Leading from the front in Seumas’ Bar during peak trading Taking full control of Housekeeping standards, rooms, public areas, consistency Managing large teams across Bar, Restaurant, and Housekeeping Driving performance, accountability, and standards across departments Conducting probation reviews, performance management, and disciplinaries where required Owning rotas, staffing levels, and operational efficiency Taking responsibility for social media content posting, ensuring consistent, on-brand output Monitoring, reviewing, and responding to customer feedback across Tripadvisor, Google Reviews, and direct website channels Analysing feedback trends and driving immediate operational improvements based on guest insight Reporting regularly to the Managing Director on performance, feedback, and actions taken What We Need Strong background in high-volume bar & restaurant operations (non-negotiable) Experience managing large teams in busy environments Proven ability in performance management, not avoiding it Confident running probationary reviews and difficult conversations Hands-on leader, visible, present, and respected by your team Strong IT skills, including systems such as Clarity (or similar) Organised, resilient, and able to handle pressure without excuses The Offer £45,000 salary performance-related bonus (OTE £50K) Live-in accommodation available Strong tips (shared fairly across the team) Meals on shift Real opportunity to prove yourself in a serious operation The Reality This is a step-up role for someone ready to move beyond average operations.
