Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. Successful completion of the Foundation Degree Nursing Associate Apprenticeship, including end point assessment.
2. Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register
Experience
Essential criteria
3. Previous experience of working within a health/social care setting
4. Experience of providing and receiving complex, sensitive information.
5. Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
6. Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
Abilities
Essential criteria
7. Ability to organise and prioritise own delegated workload
8. Ability to communicate effectively (written, verbal, and nonverbal communication) with patients, relatives/ carers and the multidisciplinary team
9. Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact
10. Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with patients, their families, carers and colleagues
Knowledge
Essential criteria
11. Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the team and organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development.
12. Understand and act in line with NMC professional standards
13. Understanding of evidence based practice
