SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: Bury, Greater Manchester
Contract: Full time, Monday to Friday, long-term
We are currently working with a well-established specialist school in Bury who are looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after the Easter break.
This provision supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties and moderate learning needs. The school has a strong focus on creating a structured, supportive environment where pupils can develop both academically and socially.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils throughout the school day, helping them to access learning and maintain engagement within the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
* Supporting the delivery of lessons and adapting activities where required
* Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
* Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement
* Supporting pupils during transitions and less structured parts of the day
* Working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Have experience working with SEN pupils or within a school setting
* Be patient, consistent and able to build strong relationships
* Have a calm and proactive approach to behaviour
* Be confident working as part of a team
* Be available to work full time, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
