Housekeeper - Godiva Lodge, Coventry
Hours: 10 (weekends only)
At Anchor, we know that a clean, safe and welcoming environment plays a vital role in helping people enjoy later life with comfort and dignity. We are looking for a committed and conscientious Housekeeper to join the team at Godiva Lodge, Coventry, supporting residents to feel at home every day.
Working closely with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, you will help ensure the home is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and safety, both in residents’ private living areas and in shared spaces. Your work will directly contribute to the wellbeing of residents and the warm, homely atmosphere that Godiva Lodge is known for.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, pleasant and safe environment throughout the home, following agreed standards and procedures at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring all areas of the home are kept clean, tidy and welcoming for residents and visitors
2. Maintaining high standards of hygiene in communal areas and individual living spaces
3. Using cleaning products and equipment correctly, in line with instructions and health & safety guidance
4. Following infection prevention, COSHH and safe working practices at all times
5. Supporting a safe environment by reporting any hazards or maintenance concerns
6. Respecting residents’ privacy, dignity and confidentiality at all times
About You
You’ll be someone who takes pride in your work and understands the importance of cleanliness in a care setting. Ideally, you will have:
7. Previous cleaning experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment (including carpet cleaners)
8. An understanding of safe use of cleaning products and materials
9. Awareness of health & safety in the workplace, including COSHH
10. An understanding of data protection, confidentiality and safeguarding of vulnerable adults
11. A Customer Service NVQ Level 2 (or willingness to work towards one) would be advantageous
