Support Officer – Homelessness & Resettlement Oxford, £14.50 – £16.00 per hour Role Overview We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Support Officer to join our team in Oxford, working with individuals who have experienced homelessness and are now living in independent, dispersed accommodation. As a Support Officer, you will provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to help clients achieve long-term independence. Key Responsibilities Provide person-centred, trauma-informed support to individuals living in community-based accommodation, addressing complex needs such as substance use, mental health, and past offending. Build empowering, respectful relationships with clients, helping them grow in confidence and stability. Collaborate with partner agencies, including health services, probation, substance use teams, and social care, to ensure a holistic support package. Support clients through the move-on process, from identifying suitable housing to settling into their new home. Complete risk assessments, support plans, and case recording with clarity and accuracy. Ensure a safe, welcoming environment across our properties, including occasional room cleaning or clearance when needed. Contribute positively to team culture, service development, and organisational goals. Required Skills & Experience Experience supporting vulnerable adults, ideally within homelessness, housing, social care, or a related field. A calm, confident approach to managing challenging situations safely and professionally. Understanding of trauma-informed practice and its application in a support setting. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with experience of teamwork and partnership working.
