 
        
        Title: Business Unit Cyber Security Design Authority
Location: Crawley, UK (hybrid approach, approx 40% remote; travel to Crawley and other Thales & customer sites required)
Core Terms of Reference (ToR):
 * Act in capacity as the Cyber Design Authority across the Thales Business Line covering Core, Low & High team activities, services & delivered with a direct reporting line to the UK Chief Product Security Officer and BL Technical Director.
 * Ensure adherence to and intelligent application of Thales UK Cyber Engineering Governance and processes across all BL activities.
 * Support cybersecurity maturity development of BL, including knowledge transfer and upskilling to senior BL staff.
 * Assess and assure cybersecurity aspects of products and solutions through life, including assessing key cybersecurity approach, cyber engineering artefacts and overall security case.
 * Provide guidance on applicable policies & standards required for relevant industrial applications.
 * Evaluate and guide technology selection and impact on security / cyber risks.
Key Skills:
 * Able to operate in multi‑stakeholder environments and influence outcomes.
 * Select and follow structured processes to identify threats, vulnerabilities, assess exposure and mitigate security risks.
 * Guide teams to complete formal assurance and acceptance, working with customers and 3rd parties.
 * Apply secure‑by‑design through engineering lifecycle and service.
 * Understand cybersecurity technologies, fundamentals and assess suitability of candidate products.
 * Articulate and distinguish between cyber security and cyber resilience approaches.
Experience:
 * 5+ years in senior Cyber Security Engineering roles.
 * Proven experience guiding complex projects through security risk and mitigation activities.
 * Experience working with external partners and accreditation bodies.
 * Experience applying cybersecurity to OT, IOT and/or embedded environments.
Qualifications:
 * Engineering degree or equivalent in an appropriate field.
Desirable:
 * CISSP accreditation.
 * CCP Architect.
 * SABSA Chartered Security Arch Foundation & Practitioner.
 * IEng/CEng.

Security Clearance: SC Clearance required. Candidates with existing clearance preferred; otherwise successful applicant will undergo, achieve and maintain SC clearance.
