About You
Your role as a Kitchen Assistant involves preparing and serving nutritious meals that residents will enjoy. You will uphold high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene. Tasks include maintaining food supplies, managing fridge/freezer temperatures, training new staff, and cleaning equipment, always prioritizing Resident wellbeing.
We seek candidates with some kitchen experience, ideally holding an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation, or willing to attain one. Strong organisational skills, good record-keeping, and the ability to follow recipes are essential. You should communicate considerately and kindly with Residents and colleagues.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You must be able to recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect, and know the appropriate steps to take. All staff will attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional related training. You should also be able to seek advice and report concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
