Join Our Team as a Building Surveyor at Tesco
We are looking for a dedicated Building Surveyor to join our national team. This regional, field-based role involves conducting building condition and risk surveys across Tesco stores, offices, and distribution centers. You will support our building maintenance strategy, collaborate with development and maintenance teams, and work with specialists to diagnose building defects, while helping drive property programs and develop standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Conduct building dilapidation and defect diagnosis inspections, liaising with maintenance teams to implement solutions.
* Perform surveys and inspections to identify risks and support planning and specifications for remedial works.
* Ensure quality and cost assurance of maintenance works.
* Review contractor estimates for appropriateness and value.
* Support the development of planned maintenance regimes.
* Provide technical input into the maintenance of building fabric across various types of buildings.
* Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure compliance and effective solutions.
* Lead individual projects related to building maintenance and health & safety improvements.
* Maintain statutory compliance on all building maintenance matters.
* Contribute to design standards and survey processes to specify appropriate building materials.
Minimum Requirements
* Chartered RICS/CIOB Building Surveyor or working towards this qualification.
* Degree or equivalent in Building Surveying or Construction.
* Experience in retail or similar building surveying roles is desirable.
