Job Summary
Cap Air Systems Limited is expanding – and we're looking for experienced electronics professionals to join our production team. If you have top-notch soldering skills, cable assembly experience, and pride yourself on quality workmanship, we'd love to hear from you. Our ideal candidate has experience of an electronics manufacturing environment or soldering, with good mechanical knowledge and experience in assembly using both hand and power tools. As a Production Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our production processes run smoothly and efficiently within our new, larger site in St Ives, and most importantly of all be a fun individual who enjoys working as part of a great team.
Responsibilities
* Hand soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components (SMT) to IPC standards
* Crimping, stripping, and terminating cables and wires
* Building complex wiring looms, harnesses, and assemblies
* Reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings
* Assisting with box builds and complete assembly of electronic products
* Contributing to quality control, fault-finding, and test processes
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to complete assembly tasks.
* Conduct routine inspections of assembled products to ensure they meet quality requirements.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
* Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and resolve any issues that may arise.
* Assist in the inventory management of materials and components used in production.

Must haves:
* Soldering or PCB manufacture experience in an electronics environment
* Great attitude, curiosity and sense of humour
* Willingness to learn, work flexibly and delight our customers
* Team player with a great work ethic
Great to haves (but not essential):
* Experience of cabling/wiring assembly
* Experience of lean manufacturing and working in medical/aerospace (ISO13485/AS9100) environments
