Title: Senior Hardware Test Engineer
Location: Dundee, UK (full time)
Grade: 11
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. The team develops and supports complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide. We are seeking a Senior Test Engineer who will work as part of a cross‑functional design team on development projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high‑availability solutions.
The role involves establishing and delivering test strategy, including the planning and execution of testing, and the analysis and reporting of results using the latest technology and data‑driven continuous‑improvement principles. A Mechatronic background and hands‑on mechanical and electronics skills are advantageous.
Responsibilities
* Help develop the test team and report team status.
* Test scripting with LabView and Python.
* Develop and execute test plans for evaluating early design concepts.
* Undertake testing and debugging of designs, ensuring they meet specifications.
* Capture, analyze and report test data.
* Provide technical insight into test data and establish opportunities for improvement.
* Ensure test rigs are built and set up correctly to support rapid development cycles.
* Willingness to travel globally, e.g., to customer sites for support or analysis.
Qualifications
* Minimum HND/degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Computing, Software Engineering or a related subject.
* Relevant work experience in an electro‑mechanical engineering role is an advantage.
Technical Expertise
* Electromechanical systems (motors, sensors, control).
* Establishing test strategy.
* Test planning and execution.
* Data analysis and result reporting using PowerBi, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
* Test software scripting.
* Test automation.
* National Instruments LabVIEW software.
