About the role

Salary: £32,597 to £35,412 per annum.

Location: Your office base will be County Hall, Chichester; hybrid working in office at least one day per week.

Working pattern: Full-time, 37 hours per week.

We are seeking a Project Support Officer for Education and Learning to serve as a key member of the Refugee, Resettlement, and Migration service.

In this role you will provide support across the Refugees, Resettlement and Migration service in all project governance, documentation and delivery. You will be responsible for maintaining and change control of project documents, for planning, managing and implementing a number of small projects, working to/within corporate project frameworks. You will collect, coordinate, and analyse any management information required. You will plan and assist in the development and staging of a variety of events, including meetings, seminars, briefings etc.

* Confident in using initiative on your own and implement small projects.
* Great communication skills, able to interact effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a range of high‑level clients/stakeholders.
* Highly organised, with excellent time management skills and able to meet set deadlines and prioritise workload accordingly.
* Excellent IT skills, with good knowledge of Microsoft packages.
* Competent problem solver with a sound understanding of project management, change control and reporting.


Key Skills

* Advanced analytical skills to interpret and manipulate varied and complex project information.
* Able to organise, plan and meet set targets, e.g., for the provision of urgent reports required by customers, or to manage progress against plans to achieve successful outcomes.
* Developed communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a range of high‑level clients/stakeholders and create and maintain effective working relationships, and provide coaching to colleagues on process or documentation.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to anticipate problems and resolve issues independently, planning solutions and making sound pragmatic decisions.
* Advanced IT skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other web‑based applications for word processing, analysis and research of data, creating electronic presentations.
* Excellent literacy and numeracy skills to carry out financial analysis and reporting.


Qualifications and/or experience

HNC/HND in an appropriate area or equivalent practical experience / range of knowledge.

Relevant knowledge of project management processes, procedures and policies associated with working within a demanding service.

Demonstrable experience of working as a competent member of a project team, ideally in a project support role or equivalent, whilst confident to implement projects independently.

Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and within project management systems/practices, and to provide effective support.

Experience of project planning and implementation. Planning and implementing more than one project or project work stream at any given time.
