This full‑time post principally supports the Physiotherapy Walking Aids Service, which is based in Treforest and operates across all of the University Health Board sites. The role will also involve patient‑facing and administrative duties within the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team at the University Hospital Llandough. This position is key to ensuring patients receive safe, reliable mobility aids that support their rehabilitation and discharge planning. You will contribute to maintaining high‑quality physiotherapy services by managing walking aids, supporting equipment refurbishment, and helping train other support staff. The post holder may also be required to work a 7‑day job plan to support the delivery of 7‑day Physiotherapy services. The ability to travel across the community is essential. Advert Working alongside the Walking Aids Assistant Practitioner, the successful candidate will: Order, deliver, and maintain a range of walking aids to support patient mobility and safe discharge Support stock control processes and assist in the refurbishment of returned equipment Train other support staff to develop basic competencies in walking‑aid refurbishment Work as part of the Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team to support rehabilitation programmes Engage effectively with patients, colleagues, and the wider MDT using good communication and teamwork skills Drive a delivery van to transport equipment as required, demonstrating confidence in safe manoeuvring and handling The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply Working for our organisation Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is one of the largest Integrated Health Boards in the UK, employing over 17,000 staff, providing over 100 specialist services.
