Advanced clinical practitioner- cardiology

Role Overview

Provide direct clinical care through health assessment, appropriate use and interpretation of diagnostic tests, initiation of treatment, formulation and alteration of treatment decisions, and monitoring of care programs with a high degree of autonomy. Facilitate the development of clinical practice through research and education of the multi-disciplinary team. Evaluate care through quality assurance initiatives and assessment of clinical outcomes. Be an expert resource for other healthcare practitioners. Ensure that the highest standards of clinical care are delivered.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the maintenance of clinical excellence with an awareness of local and national policies and guidelines.
• Provide specialist clinical leadership within this area of care and lead and develop specialist education.
• Proactively develop the ACP-Cardiology role in response to healthcare needs and advances in practice, contributing to improved patient outcomes by enhancing services, quality and direct provision of care.
• Exercise a high degree of personal professional autonomy and make critical judgments to satisfy the expectations and demands of the role.
• Challenge traditional ways of working, enhance clinical care and deliver an excellent patient experience.
