Overview
We're looking for a Senior Buyer to join our team, based at our Customer Support Centre in Walsall on a hybrid working model, 3 days a week in the office.
Responsibilities
* Setting and meeting key performance objectives related to sales, margin, and other critical operational metrics.
* Helping to define and implement our company’s vision.
* Leading the development and execution of product range reviews to optimise category performance.
* Drive revenue, margin, and gross profit across commercial divisions and brands.
* Identify, create, and develop new product range opportunities, taking ownership of crafting compelling business proposals that secure new deals, contracts, and long-term partnerships.
* Promote collaborative working between Buying, Supply Chain, Marketing and Finance.
You'll shape and deliver the strategy to enable positive performance on sales/margin targets, manage resources and budget effectively, coach and lead your team to achieve their goals, drive effective range developments and product development, and explore new products that customers would love. Your team plays an essential role in our product journey, enabling customers to shop the ranges they love. You will contribute to the achievement of the commercial strategy and KPIs through effective category and people leadership and establish Joint Business Partnerships with suppliers and key stakeholders to drive scalability, efficiency, and growth.
For this role we need someone with over 5 years of experience in a retail buying position, having led a team, and who is used to leading category management; including analysing market trends, creating product ranges, and ensuring stock availability. A comprehensive insight into product and logistical challenges and their impact on operations, with a deep understanding of suppliers’ needs and how to foster strong, mutually beneficial relationships.
