Trust Doctor ST1/2 Level in Paediatrics

Based at Whipps Cross Hospital
We are currently inviting applications for a Trust Doctor (ST1/ST2) to join our supportive and dynamic Paediatric team at Whipps Cross Hospital. This fixed-term role is to cover a training gap from 04 February 2026 until 04 August 2026, offering a valuable opportunity to develop your skills in a well-regarded teaching environment.
Main duties of the job
As a vital member of our medical team, you’ll gain broad experience across:
·Our 26-bed General Paediatric Ward
·A Level II Neonatal Unit
·The Paediatric A&E
·Paediatric Assessment Unit
·Labour and postnatal wards, when required
This post is ideal for motivated junior doctors looking to expand their clinical exposure and contribute meaningfully to the care of children and newborns.

Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. MBChB (or equivalent)
2. Full GMC registration
3. Competence in assessment and management of ill children in the acute setting
Desirable criteria
4. MRCPCH part 1
5. APLS
6. NLS
7. Knowledge or experience of the NHS
8. Competence in the resuscitation of newborn infants
Experience
Essential criteria
9. To have completed foundation years or equivalent
Desirable criteria
10. Previous paediatric experience
11. Previous neonatal experience
12. Participation in clinical audit
13. Experience of presenting data
14. Teaching Experience
Skills
Essential criteria
15. Clear, concise and well-presented application
