Group Reporting and Technical Accounting Director | Multi-national TMT | Salary £150,000 - £200,000
I am currently working with a large Technology company who is looking for a Group Reporting and Technical Accounting Director to come and join a high performing team. For this role you will have exposure across the business from a very senior level and help train more junior member of the team.
This role has line management and you will be required to deal with some of the more complex accounting queries which arise, this could be from M&A activity. You will also be the go to person for any changes in standards and the effects this could have on the business.
Responsibilities;
* Serve as the subject matter expert on complex technical accounting issues under GAAP and IFRS.
* Research, evaluate, and document the accounting treatment for new, complex transactions and company initiatives (e.g., divestitures, joint ventures, significant new contracts).
* Develop, maintain, and ensure consistent application of the company's global accounting policies and internal controls over financial reporting.
* Review significant accounting positions and disclosures in external financial statements.
* Manage the relationship with external auditors on technical accounting matters, providing clear and well-supported documentation and conclusions.
* Partner with Corporate Development and cross-functional teams to provide technical accounting guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
* Lead the implementation of new accounting standards across all relevant business units and systems globally.
* Develop and deliver training to finance and operational teams globally on new and existing accounting policies.
* You will be comfortable working with senior leaders across the business and across various time zones.
Experience;
* Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a significant focus on technical accounting.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Big Four practice.
* Previous experience within the TMT sector is a bonus.
* Have worked in a complex matrix structure understanding the nuances with this.
* Be able to translate complex accounting concepts into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for both finance and non-finance executives.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively across multiple geographies and functional departments.
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
For this role you will be ACA qualified and have a strong Technical Accounting background and have worked in large, multi-national companies. You would previously have worked with various departments. This is an extremely rewarding role and one where you will have a lots of autonomy within the Group.
This role is based in the office 3 days per week, my client is based in central London and you will
