The Opportunity
We are seeking systems engineers to join our Electronics UK business. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering leading edge solutions to challenging projects involving Electro-Optic (EO) and Infrared (IR) technologies.
Advanced targeting covers all EO/IR projects in Edinburgh, including lasers, imaging systems, detection and tracking, control systems, and navigation. The role involves the entire engineering lifecycle, from concept to end-of-service products, ensuring system performance exceeds expectations.
Some flexible working options are available, but considerable on-site work is expected.
What you’ll do
* Contribute to requirement capture, development, modelling, manufacture, testing, and verification of EO/IR technologies and systems.
* Mentor early-career engineers within your team and across the business.
* Contribute to and improve engineering processes across the full lifecycle.
* Collaborate within integrated project teams and across sectors to design, build, and deliver EOIR equipment.
* Promote a culture of continuous learning and act as a change agent for systems engineering.
What we’re looking for
* Experience in applying systems engineering to EO/IR products. Degree in systems engineering, physics, or related field.
* Ability to obtain necessary security clearance and minimum of 5 years UK residency.
* Technical skills: strong analytical and critical thinking, experience with systems engineering methods, familiarity with EO/IR systems and lifecycle.
