Estimator Gas and Oil Industry
Location: Ilkeston, Derbyshire
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Are you an experienced Estimator with a proven background in the oil and gas, utilities, or pipeline industries? My client is currently seeking a dedicated and highly motivated professional to join their established and committed team based at their Head Office in Ilkeston, Derbyshire. This is an excellent opportunity to play a pivotal role within a company renowned for consistently delivering high-quality services in the oil and gas and utilities sectors. Key Responsibilities: Preparing accurate take-offs and comprehensive tender submissions specifically within the oil and gas, utilities (gas, water, power), and pipeline sectors. Managing and organising appropriate tender enquiries and documentation. Handling correspondence related to tenders efficiently and professionally. Ensuring all estimates are completed accurately and within required deadlines. Essential Skills & Experience: Proven estimating experience within oil and gas, utilities (gas, water, and/or power), or pipeline industries. Strong track record in successful bidding and project acquisition. Proficiency in producing detailed tenders, pricing, and rates from first principles. Excellent understanding of project management principles, terminology, and methodologies relevant to the oil and gas industry. Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Valid full UK driving licence. Qualifications: HNC, Degree, or equivalent in a relevant field. A minimum of 5 years' experience in estimating roles, ideally within site-based engineering environments linked to oil and gas or utilities sectors. Demonstrable capability to manage a variety of project estimations efficiently and effectively. Personal Attributes: Highly organised, with exceptional time management skills. Self-motivated and committed to delivering quality services consistently. Strong interpersonal abilities and clear communication skills.
