A reputable UK-based contractor with decades of experience delivering high-quality roofing and cladding solutions is seeking a detail-oriented MEP Package Manager to support a large-scale refurbishment project in Barrow-in-Furness. This role will involve managing specific MEP work packages, coordinating technical design efforts, and ensuring seamless integration with wider construction and building envelope activities. Role Summary: The successful candidate will oversee all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works on a major refurbishment scheme. Key responsibilities include managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project and regulatory standards, supporting technical design (RIBA Stage 4), and coordinating with internal build teams. The project scope includes replacement of building envelope systems, structural steelwork repairs, MEP system redistribution, and installation of temporary works for safety and security. Key Responsibilities: Manage MEP installation from initiation through commissioning and handover. Supervise subcontractors and monitor compliance with design specifications and regulations. Champion health, safety, environmental, and quality assurance (QA) standards on site. Support the resolution of technical issues in collaboration with construction teams. Review progress and quality, ensuring alignment with project milestones. Liaise with design consultants and clients during inspections and coordination meetings. Maintain accurate site records, including commissioning and snagging documentation. Assist with procurement and subcontractor package management. Oversee system testing, commissioning, and final handover. Promote a high-performance culture focused on quality and client satisfaction. Collaborate closely with build managers and integrate fully into the wider project team. Requirements: Proven track record in a similar MEP management role within a main contractor or large subcontractor setting. NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an MEP discipline. SMSTS certification and valid CSCS card (Black Card preferred). Strong technical knowledge of MEP services and system coordination. Ability to manage subcontractor relationships effectively. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. SC clearance is advantageous. Preferred Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing MEP packages in construction.
