Community Paediatric Consultant – Bronglais General Hospital, Aberystwyth
The post holder will provide a community paediatric service, lead multidisciplinary teams, and develop teaching and research. The role is based at Bronglais General Hospital with flexibility to work at other Health Board sites.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a high‑quality community paediatric service and uphold clinical standards.
* Lead and mentor staff within the specialty and the broader health board.
* Develop and sustain teaching and training programmes for medical staff and students.
* Conduct and oversee clinical audit and evidence‑based practice initiatives.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, primary care and social care integration.
* Provide strategic advice to Health Board and social services on intermediate care agenda.
Essential Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
* On Specialist Register with GMC (or CCT within 6 months of interview) or equivalent CESR/CESR‑CP.
* MRCPCH or equivalent paediatric qualification.
* Valid Level 3 safeguarding training and BLS/ACL certification.
* Evidence of experience in community paediatrics and leadership within a multidisciplinary team.
* Proven record of clinical audit, research or evidence‑based medicine practice.
Desirable Qualifications
* Higher academic degree (MD, PhD or MSc) in a relevant discipline.
* CESR in Community Paediatrics.
* Experience in NHS research projects with publications.
* Evidence of advanced management or training in NHS structure and performance.
Additional Information
* Health Board provides a Consultant Development and Mentoring Programme aligned with the NHS Medical Leadership Competency Framework.
* Salary: £110,240 – £160,951 per annum (Hospital medical and dental staff).
* Contract: Permanent, full‑time.
