About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Coventry from Easter 2026. This full-time role will run until at least the end of the academic year (July 2026), with the potential for extension.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience desirable), inspiring students and driving strong academic progress.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured English lessons
* Teach a broad and balanced English curriculum
* Prepare students for GCSE examinations (A-Level desirable but not essential)
* Assess, track, and report on student progress
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
* Contribute to departmental planning and enrichment opportunities
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* A degree in English or a related subject
* Experience teaching English at secondary level
* Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills
* A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
* The ability to engage and challenge learners of all abilities
