About the Role: We are recruiting a committed and experienced Childrens Residential Home Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a childrens residential learning disability service in the Burton-on-Trent area. The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality, child-centred care is delivered at all times in line with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding requirements and best practice. This is a hands-on role where the Deputy Manager will work shifts, including sleep-ins, and lead by example on the floor while supporting staff development, compliance, and positive outcomes for children and young people. Key Responsibilities: Supporting the Registered Manager in the safe, effective and compliant management of the home Acting as the Deputy Manager on shift, providing leadership, guidance and supervision to the staff team Working directly with children and young people with learning disabilities, complex needs and associated behaviours Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are implemented and reviewed Promoting safeguarding, positive behaviour support and trauma-informed practice Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision and staff development Maintaining high standards of compliance with Ofsted regulations Deputising for the Registered Manager when required Requirements: Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Essential) Experience working in a childrens residential setting Strong safeguarding and regulatory knowledge Ability to work shifts including sleep-ins Strong leadership skills Passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people Desirable: Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Childrens Residential Care (or willingness to work towards) Experience supporting children with learning disabilities or autism Experience in a senior or acting-up role Safeguarding: This role is subject to enhanced DBS checks and safer recruitment practices.
