These explain the job role and the type of person we're looking for.****Location:** Beach Ballroom, **Duration:** Permanent, Full Time**Roles that require PVG Membership**Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies **only** to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £31,505 per annum / £17.31 per hour)The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.**Job purpose/about the role**To be responsible for the duty management of staff and day to day operations of the Beach Ballroom, any related catering and civic events.## The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:* Advanced Qualification in an appropriate subject and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant commercial experience## The postholder is able to demonstrate:* Experience of working in a similar role with a track record of customer service excellence* Regulatory awareness, including relevant licenses and safety standards and a history of positive compliance* Ability to remain calm, collected and personable in pressured situations* Commercial acumen and a good understanding of commercial opportunities* Positive interpersonal skills in written and verbal communication, with an ability to present information clearly and in an accessible manner* Experience of staff supervision, training and delegation of tasks* Implementing and following finance policies in an operational capacity* Well-organised approach to work with an ability to handle information, records and statistics accurately* Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiativePlease see the Job Profile for further details.Aberdeen City Council is an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
