FW Power Generators Ltd is seeking a skilled
Technical Service Engineer
to join our growing service and support team. The role involves commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding across a range of
diesel generator systems
used in both standby and prime power applications.
The ideal candidate will be proficient with
Deep Sea Electronics (DSE) control panels
, comfortable working on both
mechanical and electrical systems
, and capable of diagnosing complex issues independently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Service, repair, and commission diesel generator sets across various sites.
* Configure, test, and troubleshoot
Deep Sea (DSE)
and other generator control panels.
* Perform electrical diagnostics and mechanical repairs on engines and alternators.
* Conduct load testing, fault analysis, and reporting.
* Provide on-site technical support and liaise with customers professionally.
* Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience with
diesel generators
and
Deep Sea control systems
(DSE 7xxx/8xxx series preferred).
* Strong understanding of
engine systems
(mechanical and electrical).
* Hands-on experience with
Perkins, Cummins, Volvo, or FG Wilson
engines.
* Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and control schematics.
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
Preferred Qualifications:
* NVQ or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
* Experience with synchronising and load-sharing systems.
* Familiarity with PLC-based controls and remote monitoring system
