You will be enrolled with a local education provider and required to complete your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard qualification within the duration of the placement. Rheumatology is excited to advertise for an apprentice waiting‑list coordinator and we want to hear from you! Our team is comprised of doctors, nurses and administration staff working collaboratively to deliver excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
* Complete the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard qualification.
* Provide waiting‑list management for the Rheumatology Directorate, maintaining lists accurately and in real‑time in accordance with the Patient Access Policy and the Trust PAS User Policy.
* Record all relevant information to PAS and undertake RTT recording as appropriate.
* Implement booked‑admission protocols and procedures, including booking dates and managing cancellations.
* Oversee daily admission lists, ensuring they meet the demands of consultants and the unit.
* Collaborate closely with medical secretarial staff to update information accurately.
* Compile departmental admission lists and assign patient confirmation times.
* Ensure all documentation required by the unit is kept in an efficient and accessible manner.
* Verify and record patient details on the patient management system (including waiting‑list card details).
* Ensure urgent referrals are dealt with in accordance with the Patient Access Policy.
* Act as a role model and consistently demonstrate the NNUH PRIDE values (People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence) and support an inclusive culture.
Minimum Age and Residency Requirements
* Aged 16+
* Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years
* Must not have a qualification in a similar subject at the same level or above
* Must not be in any form of formal government‑funded education upon the start of the apprenticeship
Qualifications and Skills Required
* Good general standard of education
* 4 GCSEs at Grade C/3 or above (or equivalent)
* Good standard of literacy and numeracy
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Good IT skills
