Location: UK-wide (regional focus aligned to sector)
Forest — part of Mitie — is one of the UK's leading refrigeration service providers, trusted by major national brands to maintain, repair and support critical refrigeration infrastructure. As we continue to expand, we're looking for an experienced, commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow our footprint across key markets.
This role is ideal for a proven sales professional with a strong track record in upselling technical services within an existing client base.
The Role
We are recruiting a Business Development Manager who will focus on expanding our refrigeration proposition within Mitie's extensive client portfolio, already generating £5bn+ in annual revenue, across two strategic sectors:
1. Retail
2. Supermarkets & convenience retail
3. Chilled and frozen food & drink retail
4. Non-foodservice leisure (e.g., cinemas)
5. Foodservice
6. Hospitality: restaurants, pubs, hotels, QSR, coffee chains
7. Contract catering (offices, manufacturing sites)
8. Leisure venues: arenas, stadiums
9. Public sector: schools, hospitals, government sites
10. MOD, defence, aerospace and secure environments
What You'll Be Doing
You'll operate with the autonomy of running your own region, with responsibility for building revenue and ultimately developing a team beneath you.
11. Securing new opportunities through your established network
12. Upselling planned and reactive refrigeration services to existing Mitie clients
13. Managing the full sales cycle from first engagement to contract award
14. Working closely with operational teams to shape deliverable, profitable solutions
15. Building strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers
16. Maintaining an accurate sales pipeline, forecasts and activity reporting
17. Representing Forest at industry events, exhibitions and forums
What We're Looking For
18. A proven B2B service sales background — ideally in refrigeration, FM, M&E, catering equipment or related technical services
19. Demonstrable success winning and growing service contracts
20. An established network within one or more of our target sectors
21. Strong commercial acumen with an instinct for spotting upsell/cross‑sell opportunities
22. A confident communicator who builds credibility quickly
23. Self‑motivated, resilient and comfortable operating autonomously
24. Highly organised with a disciplined approach to pipeline and activity management
