Customer Service Assistant – Food to Go at Scotmid Co-operative. We are focused on serving local communities and improving people’s everyday lives through our different businesses. We’ve been serving communities for 160 years and are run by our members for the benefit of the communities we serve. Scotmid food aims to be Scotland’s preferred community convenience retailer, supported by our people.
Our stores operate from early morning to late at night, so a flexible approach is essential. No two days are the same and Customer Service Assistants work at a fast pace, performing a variety of tasks from making breakfast rolls to filling shelves. The primary responsibility is to ensure customers have a great experience every visit through friendly service, product availability, and high hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve various products which could include raw and cooked meat, alcohol, and foods containing allergens.
* Provide friendly customer service to ensure a great in-store experience.
* Work on your feet for long periods and perform tasks such as stock merchandising and cleaning; some lifting and carrying may be required.
* Contribute to product availability by stocking shelves and maintaining shop standards.
* Work on the Food to Go counter where applicable.
Qualifications and experience
* Enthusiasm and a passion for customer service with excellent communication skills.
* Training will be provided; experience in a sales or retail environment is an advantage.
* Previous knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
