Job Description
Due to significant product growth, we are now looking for a Research Associate to join our inhouse manufacturing team here in Cambridge on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a lab-based role where you will work closely with other Purification & Conjugation team members. You will be responsible for performing purification techniques, preparing antibody and peptide conjugates to various labels, producing high-quality results to meet high throughput targets, and assisting with daily lab operations.
* Support the team in lab work, ensuring high-quality production, and report any missed specifications.
* Perform purification and conjugation processes to deliver experiments on schedule.
* Develop relationships across different teams within Abcam.
* Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs, and Health and Safety procedures.
* Contribute to housekeeping tasks in the Purification & Conjugation Lab areas.
* Keep stakeholders informed and participate in cross-team discussions, including presenting data and influencing outcomes.
Qualifications
You should have a degree in biological sciences or equivalent lab experience, with skills in life science techniques. Knowledge of protein purification methods (Affinity, SEC, IEX, HIC) and conjugation is required. Experience with pipetting and materials handling, ability to meet deadlines, and excellent record-keeping are essential. Experience with AKTA chromatography systems and Unicorn software is a plus.
