Job Introduction
Are you a proactive and experienced Internal Sales Coordinator seeking your next opportunity? We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our team in Colchester, where you’ll play a key role in managing customer enquiries, generating quotes, converting orders, and resolving queries and complaints.
You’ll be instrumental in driving pipeline business forward, ensuring service levels are met and customer satisfaction remains high. Collaborating closely with our orders and distribution teams, you’ll provide essential support to both internal and external sales functions across the region and the wider Tarmac group.
Key Responsibilities
As an Internal Sales Coordinator, your duties will include (but are not limited to):
1. Developing a strong understanding of our product portfolio, particularly Tarmac Aggregates and Asphalt
2. Handling inbound sales enquiries via phone and email, converting them into confirmed orders
3. Delivering excellent customer service with a professional and friendly telephone manner
4. Managing multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
5. Identifying and responding to customer needs with tailored solutions
6. Upholding and promoting the company’s core values
7. Building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing customers
8. Engaging with customers to gain deeper insight into their requirements
Please note: Due to the location of the site, access to personal transport is essential as public transport is not available.
Ideal Candidate Profile
For the role of Internal Sales Coordinator, we’re looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, ideally within a related industry, and who has provided internal or external sales support to a wider team. You’ll ideally bring:
9. Familiarity with SAP, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications
10. A collaborative mindset, working effectively with colleagues to meet deadlines and maintain high standards
11. A positive attitude and the ability to build rapport with customers and team members
12. A proactive approach to learning and personal development
You’ll also need:
13. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)

15. Confidence with numbers and analytical thinking
