Position Title: Business Development Manager
Location: Mansfield
Employment Type: Full-Time
Purpose of the Role:
The Resourcing Team is partnering with a leading provider of commercial integrated security solutions. The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities to drive company growth. The role demands an initiative-taking, dynamic individual with excellent sales ability and a strong focus on building lasting client relationships. The successful candidate will generate new revenue streams through direct selling, lead generation, and strategic client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Identify and secure new business opportunities within target sectors, in line with company growth objectives.
* Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers through a combination of direct selling, telephone sales, cold calling, and networking.
* Prepare and deliver professional proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
* Maintain detailed knowledge of company products and services, with training provided as required.
* Build and develop strong relationships with key decision-makers to secure new contracts.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to operational delivery.
* Meet or exceed individual sales targets and performance objectives.
* Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums.
* Maintain accurate records of activity, opportunities, and client interactions using the company CRM system, which is currently HubSpot.
* Produce accurate and timely monthly reports covering pipeline status, sales performance against targets, and strategic market feedback.
* The Business Development Manager will be expected to achieve an annualised new business sales target of £600,000 in year one.
* Progress towards the target will be monitored on a monthly basis, with structured performance reviews and pipeline development support.
Use of CRM (HubSpot):
* All sales activities, customer interactions, lead tracking, and opportunity management must be accurately recorded and maintained in HubSpot.
* The Business Development Manager will be responsible for ensuring the CRM system is kept up to date at all times to support forecasting, reporting, and internal communications.
Key Skills and Attributes:
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Ability to communicate confidently at all levels, both internally and externally.
* Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Full UK driving licence.
