Overview
Billing Clerk role at Flint Bishop. Due to firmwide growth we are looking to recruit an experienced Billing Clerk to support the fee earners in our Finance Dispute Resolution department with billing support and reporting needs. The successful candidate will support the FDR Administrative Assistant with administration and finance & billing tasks during busy periods and during holiday or sick leave. This role reports to the Head of Finance Dispute Resolution and is based at our Leeds office, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* WIP management: monitor clients billing schedules to ensure invoices are raised when needed and deadlines are met.
* Raising invoices for all individual team members and collaborating with the finance department on billing queries.
* Issuing FDR invoices to clients and ensuring payment is received; liaising with Flint Bishop’s finance team to identify aged debt and undertake appropriate bill chase communication.
* Payment of invoices (Counsel\s fees, agent reports, etc.) and liaising with finance regarding this.
* Handling invoice queries from clients or third parties, including invoice reversals, credit notes, refunds, and offsets of monies held in client accounts.
* Preparation of Tier 2 & Tier 3 cost approval forms, liaising with team members and clients as needed.
* File opening and file closing; monthly client reporting and distribution to team members for file updates, then sending the report to the client.
* Liaising with finance regarding expected payments and payments to be paid out.
* Managing team holiday cover to ensure suitable support within the FDR team; communicating limitation dates on files as needed.
* Using the firm\s case management system and working with IT to adapt the system to FDR needs.
* Performing any other finance or administration tasks as directed by the Head of Finance Dispute Resolution.

* Have strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
