Job Title: Quality Inspector – Mechanical Engineering
Our client, a highly respected engineering business operating in a regulated industry, is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector with a strong background in mechanical engineering or precision machining. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a quality-driven team working on complex, high-integrity components and materials.

Role Overview
The successful candidate will perform dimensional inspections on fabricated and manufactured parts, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards. This role is crucial in maintaining product quality throughout production.
Key Responsibilities
* Use digital and manual measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, verniers, CMM) for final and in-process inspections.
* Assess components and materials for tolerances and drawing compliance.
* Accurately document inspection results and maintain records.
* Review engineering drawings, route cards, and inspection procedures.
* Support process audits and develop inspection documentation.
* Inspect and verify materials, supporting certification and traceability.
* Maintain calibration records for measuring tools.
* Contribute to the preparation and review of Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs).
* Liaise with client inspectors as needed.
Reporting Structure
This role reports directly to the Quality Control Manager.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Time-served mechanical engineer or machinist
* Strong understanding of trigonometry and measurement principles
* Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings
* Proficient with precision measuring tools
* Knowledge of ISO 9001
* Computer literate with digital record-keeping skills
* Experience with CAD software and reverse engineering
* Knowledge of British Standards
* Experience in highly regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, nuclear)

* Flexible with tasks and hours
* Full UK driving license
* Willingness to undergo or hold baseline security clearance
