Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and motivated Operational Buyer to join our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Commodity Buyer in procurement & sourcing exercises while maintaining routine operational requirements.
* Provide assistance in supplier tender and RFQ processing, update quote information, and maintain open Purchase Order lines.
* Contribute to reducing category activity to lower TCO, purchase order volume, and transportation costs.
* Identify and lead opportunities within the business and designated category to improve supply, cost, quality, innovation, and risk management, reporting through GEM measures.
* Liaise with internal customers and external suppliers to ensure timely supply of components and services.
* Motivate and develop effective supplier relationships, ensuring accurate Balance Scorecard Metrics and reporting on supplier performance issues.
* Plan, schedule, and expedite supply requirements via MRP output to meet production and inventory goals, communicating with suppliers to reflect operational demands.
* Send approved Purchase Orders, including Kanban, Stock, Discrete, Non-stock & Consignment.
* Control reject orders and review stock levels to determine new orders.
* Manage Purchasing inbox, order acknowledgements, and open order reports.
* Negotiate and maintain pricing discrepancies on order acknowledgment.
* Manage invoice queries and stock movements for external suppliers.
* Handle customs clearance and C88/SAD processing, liaising with suppliers and freight forwarders.
* Maintain supplier documentation, including certifications and compliance data.
* Assist with item planning parameters in line with SIOP material design.
* Participate in Self-Directed Teams and daily management reporting.
* Identify and resolve inventory errors, shortages, and late deliveries through root cause analysis.
Skills/Experience:
* Previous experience as a Buyer/Planner in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
* Experience with imports and commodity codes is advantageous.
* Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders and suppliers.
* Negotiation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
* Analytical skills and ability to interpret data for strategic solutions.
* Experience with product planning and procurement systems.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Qualifications:
CIPS Level 4 Foundation Diploma or equivalent, or part-qualified.
