The role & about the client: My client is one of Hampshire's most ambitious bespoke Residential developers who are growing organically and building a brand that is synonymous with quality. They are looking to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to head up all of their Commercial functions and mentor a Junior Surveyor. This role is ideal for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor ready to step up or an established Commercial Manager from a housebuilder or developer background. Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all commercial aspects of housing developments, ensuring cost control and effective subcontractor management.
* Execute accurate cost estimates, procurement, and tender processes.
* Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks to maximise project profitability.
* Review and negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Monitor project financial performance, providing regular reports to senior management.
* Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders, including subcontractors and suppliers.
* Mentor and support junior commercial team members.
Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role
* Bachelor's degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or related field
* Demonstrated experience in a similar role within residential construction.
* Strong grasp of construction contracts and regulations.
* Exceptional negotiation and communication skills.
* Proficiency in cost estimation and financial analysis.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Computer literacy, including MS Office and relevant software.
