JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer/Hardware Engineer
JOB LOCATION: Derby
SALARY: £negotiable DOE
DURATION: Permanent or would consider contract
HOURS: 37 hours per week
SHIFTS: Monday to Friday, 07:30 - 16:30
START DATE: ASAP
Industries considered: Experience with Systems/Hardware engineering is a must, but willing to consider all industries that may encompass this, although experience with Audio would be hugely beneficial.

Job Overview: As a Systems Development Engineer, you will play a key role in defining and developing leading-edge products for the rail industry. You will be involved in all aspects of product development including architecture, simulation, design, verification, and manufacturing introduction. You will work closely with hardware and software engineers, focusing on detailed work and delivering high-performance solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Design, coordinate, and develop a new range of rail products as part of the product design team.
* Manage all aspects of system engineering across the product lifecycle: investigation, evaluation, modeling, integration, launch, performance assessment, verification/validation activities.
* Support engineering teams in specification, design, development, testing, and trials of systems, hardware, software, products, and services.
Requirements:
* Background in Industrial, Technology, Transportation, or Defence industries.
* Minimum degree qualification in Systems, Electronics, or Hardware engineering.
* Experience in similar roles in systems product development.
* Hardware design skills including analogue/digital electronics, PCB design, manufacture, and testing.
* Proficiency with PCB CAE tools, component diagnostics, and mechanical design (2D/3D CAE).
* Ability to read and create technical schematics and documentation.
* Experience with electronic test instruments such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF probes.
* System testing, EMC certification, integration testing, onsite commissioning.
* Strong documentation, writing, customer-facing, and presentation skills.
* Experience with embedded, real-time, multi-thread, multi-processor/multi-core systems is highly beneficial.
