Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Permanent Nights Commutable: Basildon, South Ockendon, Rainham, Wickford 10:00pm – 6:00am | Monday–Friday (flexibility available) Salary- up to £54,000 a year My client is seeking a proactive, hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our permanent night-shift engineering team at our large-scale manufacturing facility in Essex. This is a newly created role to support increased site coverage as part of ongoing investment and growth. Working within highly automated manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across production plant and site services. You’ll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and supporting continuous improvement across complex, high-speed production lines. This is a multi-skilled role with a strong mechanical bias. As the only engineer on nights at times, you’ll need basic electrical fault-finding capability alongside strong mechanical expertise.
